( Columbus, Ohio ) - Cincinnati and Cleveland are both still in the running to host the Republican National Convention in 2016. Columbus was the other Ohio city that had applied, but they have been eliminated.

Other cities still hopeful to host the presidential-nominating event are Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, and Las Vegas.

Next up, members of the Republican National Committee will conduct what they're calling a "technical site visit" which will include going over the city's financing, convention venues, hotels, and more. Initial visits will be in April and May with a final round of site visits in late May and early June. A final decision is expected in the summer.
