Covington fire crews rescued a woman's pets from her burning home Thursday afternoon. That fire was reported in the 200 block of West Sixth Street.

No one was home except the pets, and they were pulled to safety.

Firefighters said there were heavy flames and smoke pouring from the house when they arrived.  The fire spread from the first floor to the attic.

No one was hurt, but the house sustained some outside damage.  There is no word on a cause or damage estimate.
