(Cincinnati)--Alex Triantafilou, the chairman of the the Hamilton County Republican Party, is part of a group travelling to Washington to try and bring the 2016 Republican National Convention to Cincinnati.
The group includes Hamilton County Commissioner Greg Hartman, Congressman Brad Wenstrup, Conventions and Vistors Bureau President Dan Lincoln, and Western and Southern CEO John Barrett. They will have one hour to pitch their ideas to a selection commitee, with a formal proposal due on February 26th.
Triantafilou says that although the event itself is a partisan one, the effort and the rewards of bringing it to Cincinnati can be enjoyed by people from both sides of the aisle. He says that he has spoken to Mayor John Cranley, a Democrat, about the idea.
