(Cincinnati, Oh.)--The Greater Cincinnati-Kentucky Film Commission has announced another Hollywood film will be shot in Cincinnati this summer.

The film titled “Miles Ahead” will star Don Cheadle, who will also direct and produce the film. It will chronicle the life of Miles Dewey Davis III, the famous musician, composer, arranger, producer, and band leader.

The Commission announced that Ewan McGregor, and Zoe Saldana will also star.

Davis was given his first trumpet at the age of 13. The film will follow the life of the trumpeter, a major jazz figure in cool jazz and jazz fusion movements in the 20th century.

Production offices opened in Cincinnati in mid-May, and scouting has started for film locations and local talent. “Miles Ahead” is the fifth motion picture to film in the area under the State of Ohio tax incentive established in 2012.

Anyone interested in applying to be an extra, should send a headshot and email to milesextras@gmail.com.  The film commission is also asking interested jazz musicians to send photos and contact information to milesmusicians@gmail.com.
