(Latonia Lakes, KY) -- Police discovered a family living in "deplorable" conditions in Kenton County, Wednesday morning.  Kenton County officers and Kentucky probation officers went to the house on Walnut Road, to search for a wanted person.  They didn't find them, but they did find two children, an elderly woman, five other adults, 13 dogs and "numerous" cats living in the house.

Officers say the floors and furniture were covered in animal urine and feces.  An 89-year-old woman, was in bed, also covered in waste, and was unable to move on her own.  She was hospitalized, and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services was summoned to care for the children.

Christina Kurtz was arrested and charged with 2nd degree criminal abuse.  More charges of animal abuse could be coming from Kenton County Animal Control.
