(Cincinnati) Cincinnati Council Member Christopher Smitherman is being asked to step down from his chairmanship of the city's Law and Public Safety Committee. Neighbors in the African-American community are upset about comments made by Councilman Smitherman concerning violence in the city.  So far in 2014, 24 people have been murdered in Cincinnati. Nearly all of them are African-Americans. He chastised community members at a January 7th meeting, for their "no snitch" policy of not working with police who are investigating the murders and for not doing anything to stop the violence. Smitherman said he believes police should institute a zero tolerance policy for violence. Community members spoke out at the April 14th committee meeting, saying they do care and are doing their best with what resources  they have
