Multiple people were reported injured after a vehicle drove through a crowd of counter-protesters Saturday after police put a stop to a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.

According to reports from the scene, counter-protesters were celebrating driving the white supremacists from Emancipation Park, which was supposed to be the site of the main rally. A silver vehicle reportedly drove through a crowd, and multiple people were severely injured.

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has now declared a state of emergency in Charlottesville during the 'Unite the Right' rally.

Hundreds of people are facing off, ahead of a white nationalist rally planned in the Virginia city's downtown.

Rally supporters and counter-protesters screamed, chanted, threw punches, hurled water bottles and unleashed chemical sprays on each other Saturday morning.
